Anima Jhagroe-Ruissen

I'm thrilled to announce the launch of my new Kaam Kari La portrait series featuring the incredible Anima Jhagroe-Ruissen. ✨ Anima is an amazing woman whom I deeply respect, and she has played a crucial role in shaping my perspective on feminisms and decolonial practices. 👏🏽 She also happens to be an incredibly talented henna artist. I am honored to be releasing her portrait film this ✨Wednesday✨, and I hope it inspires and empowers you to fight for what matters most to you. Anima has a soft soul🪷 and a 🔥 fiery passion for social justice for Women of Color. Check out her work and show her some love.

Shila de Vries

“I draw from my bodily archive to gain knowledge, just as I draw from academic literature and discourse.” 🍃

Meet @shiladevries , she is a Bengali-Dutch adopted woman and, among many other roles, she is a dancer as part of @ctrlaltidentity. Additionally, she is associated with Radboud University as an external PhD candidate, focusing on transnational adoptions from a development studies perspective.

Shila is a smiley, creative, powerhouse with a good set of brains 🧠 . I’ve seen her blossom into a beautiful lotus flower 🪷 . She has a special story and although our paths are different I did relate a lot to her.
Thank you Shila for being my dance partner and fighting together through our inner struggles. It was special to have done this with you. We are all connected 💖

Shawita Parag

It’s time we come together as a society to live in harmony with ourselves and nature. 🌿Let @shawita.parag inspire you along the way. ✨
Shawita is an artist and uses dance and illustration to express her emotions. She is a sweet, soft-spoken women whom I respect and love to listen to. 💕She has this energy of calmness that inspires me to take a step back from my hectic life, and she’s an advocate for mental health and environmental issues which I love to hear all about. 🌎Oh, and she’s also one of my very first models who wore Kaam Kari La’s Tomorrow collection for my first show in Amsterdam, as well as the CTRL-ALT-IDENTITY collection on the runway at the workwear fashion show @nieuweinstituut
